Here we are at the end of the 12th WNBA season on the eve of the final game between the Sparks and the Liberty as they meet in the final game to decide which will face off against the Silver Stars of San Antonio. That’s right for the first time in franchise history the San Antonio Silver Stars will be represented in the WNBA Finals. These championship finals will be bringing an end to the WNBA’s most successful season for viewership and attendance as across the board the numbers were up for the WNBA this year.

It was great to see after eight years of just par teams being put together for the USA basketball team that they finally got the ship righted again. There is little doubt that the best basketball players in the world are in the US at the same time the rest of the world is catching up quickly. Evidence of that of course has been the last eight years of USA teams not winning tournaments or gold medals.
From the moment team USA lost the gold again in Athens the boss of USA basketball Jerry Colangelo has been on a mission to strip out everything that went wrong and rebuild the team from the ground up with the help of coach Mike Krzyzewski. Continue Reading »
